Mission

He who plants a tree, plants a hope.~Lucy Larcom, "Plant a Tree"

Each year thousands of tons of paper are created from forest around the world.  42% of the worlds wood harvest goes to the production of paper, with North America being a large producer and The largest consumer of paper.  Though environmental pressure has invigorated a push for re-forestation after harvest, 90% of the plant diversity is lost in the process.

The price of procuring paper products for school printing usage is also an astronomical amount.  Every year millions of dollars go into the purchase of printer paper and other paper products.  In the unstable economy, better utilization of these funds are key.

The goal of this blog is to alleviate some of this paper usage in my classroom.  Though it is not a major contribution, every little bit helps.  This philosophy carries over to my classroom in which I hope to incorporate digital media, when appropriate, in the classroom.  The goal is to lessen the strain on paper production, but also to spread the word of this problem.
