Its Friday!

This week has been relatively productive.  I did manage to get into my classroom yesterday and looked at some of the things I will have to change in the future.  As stated earlier in my posts, it will be a lot of work but well worth it, to change over to less paper.   I have to say I do look forward to this idea, hopefully I will be able to implement it well.

The Monday After

As of today we have only 42 days left of summer vacation.  I have busy setting up this blog, as well as creating some web 2.0 stuff.  The weekend was semi-productive seeing some organizing of a few things for the classroom and cleaning up some of the clutter on my laptop.  42 days does sound like a lot, but if I am going to get myself using less paper in the class room 42 days is a blink of an eye.

End of the Line

Today is the last day of "Internet for Educators" for summer session 2 2011.  It was a very productive week, as you can see.  Hopefully I will be able to keep up with my postings on here and make this blog a useful tool for my students.  In the meantime I found a cool video about how mercury (if not for its poisonous properties) would function in mold making.  Enjoy.

Web 2.0 Search

I have been spending the afternoon looking at various WED 2.0 tools.  I have been diving into Prezi.com.  This seems like a great presentation tool.  With a little work, and know-how, I think you could make an amazing presentation.  Off to keep looking at the tools.

HTML

Fun with HTML.  Today we started looking at the "code" behind the page.  This was a refresher course on my course from high school.  Check out the "my interests" tab to see my handy work.

WEB 2.0

Today in class we took a look at what the web has to offer in terms of WEB 2.0.  Some very useful stuff is out there, I will be adding it to the blog for easy access.

Getting Started!

Today is the birthday of this blog.  This site was created as a project for EDW 647.  It will hopefully become my new teacher page for Blue 8 science at Manor Middle School.
